Elvira Sefo

Dogs Trust Worldwide Foundation Bosnia

Elvira Sefo is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with experience in both large and small animal practice. For the past three years, she has been working with the Dogs Trust Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina as a Fostering Coordinator.

In her role, she manages the dog fostering and rehoming programme, ensuring high-quality and sustainable adoptions, with a key goal that no dog returns to the streets. She achieves this by carefully matching the needs and lifestyles of adopters with the character and requirements of each individual dog.

In collaboration with Mufid Aruković, Fostering Support Coordinator, she conducts behavioural assessments for every dog before they enter the programme, which plays a crucial role in ensuring the long-term success of each rehoming.

Her work contributes to broader efforts to promote humane and sustainable approaches to dog population management, in line with the mission of the Dogs Trust Foundation to improve animal welfare and strengthen the bond between people and dogs.
