Emica Ćorić was born in Mostar, where she completed her secondary education, and later spent the rest of her life in Germany. By profession she is a biologist/embryologist, and she was educated in Stuttgart at a UNESCO college, the only one of its kind in Germany.
Her love for animals, which began as a hobby, grew into an important project for the benefit of the city of Mostar and its citizens—the establishment of a shelter for abandoned animals. Alongside her regular job, she dedicates herself to this initiative every day with great commitment. She works on it out of pure passion, without personal profit, and for the benefit of all citizens—not only of Mostar but of the entire canton. It is certainly a topic worthy of recognition and one that deserves far more attention and support than it currently receives.
Animal Care Center is a registered non-profit organisation based in Mostar, dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals. It is one of the first organisations to establish systematic cooperation with the City of Mostar and has taken a leading role in efforts to develop sustainable solutions and establish a humane system for dog population management.
